At first we thought that the museum was closed, but it turned out to be open. It was the smallest museum I’ve ever seen! When I first walked in I saw a Chitimacha statue(picture). I went to these very interesting woven baskets, I liked them a lot and wished I could do it. But, it would take a lot of work and my mouth will get ripped up when I peel the stems to make the threads. My dad spotted a canoe made out of a tree that could probably hold 10- 15 people! The tribe has an elementary school where the kids learn the regular subjects and the language of Chitimacha.
