On March 6, I experienced my first canoe trip with my mom and other full-time RV families (FtF) on the Suwannee River in Florida. The two mile canoe trip was a pre-rally activity for FtF. There were two-seater canoes and if your boat had three people, someone would have to sit in the middle. Luckily, Dad wasn’t with us so I didn’t have to get my bum wet!
The canoe trip was more difficult than I expected. About halfway through the trip, we were drifting towards a bush which was near the beach. I warned Mom too late and we sailed right through it! Further down the river, a black dog was watching us float by with a few other people when suddenly it jumped in and swam towards us! We all immediately paddled away because we were afraid the dog would hop into the canoe. Overall the canoe trip was really amazing and I can’t wait for the next one!
